Women in prison are at the lowest point of their lives. They have lost everything and most have never known what true authentic love is. They have been rejected by their own family and friends, and need someone to pray for them and to show them the love of Christ. Many want to change but they don’t know how, and this is the time when they are most open to receiving the Gospel message, have a deep thirst for God and hope. The Lord teaches us to love the vulnerable and appreciate the dignity of each human person precisely because they are made in the image of likeness of God Himself, even as we are. They are part of our family. They are our sisters in Christ. Jesus loved the most vulnerable among us and He calls us to do the same.

At St. Patrick, we have a Women’s Kolbe Ministry team that serves at the Skyview Unit in Rusk, Texas. Since covid we have not been able to go on the inside to minister to these beautiful daughters of Christ, but the doors have been open and we will be doing a 3-day retreat beginning on Thursday, July 17 thru Saturday July 19th. If you are interested to serve on this team there are many opportunities inside or outside the unit. Please contact me on the steps to join this prison ministry team or if you have any questions. amy@spccdallas.org or 214-348-7380 ext 2416.
