In God’s Image is the Disability ministry at St. Patrick, rooted in the Diocese of Dallas’s Community of Disciples initiative. As a participating parish, we work with our clergy and parish ministries to help people with disabilities and their families grow in faith and take part in parish life.
Every person is created in the image and likeness of God and has a place in our parish family. We welcome people with disabilities of all ages, their families and caregivers, and anyone interested in participating or serving.
Part of the Community of Disciples
The diocesan initiative helps parishes become places of belonging through Masses that accommodate sensory needs, faith formation adapted to individual needs, and training for parish leaders. With the support of Bishop Edward J. Burns and a grant from Lilly Endowment Inc., it encourages fuller participation in worship, prayer, and community life.

Our purpose
Our ministry seeks to build relationships and a sense of belonging by:
- Encouraging participation in Mass, the sacraments, and parish activities.
- Working with faith formation and sacrament preparation programs to respond to individual needs.
- Listening to individuals and families about what helps them participate and what gets in the way.
- Promoting disability awareness and helping our parish become more welcoming and accessible.
For several years, St. Patrick has provided sacrament preparation for children with disabilities. In God’s Image builds on that work as we learn from individuals and families and respond to needs across all ages.
