The Refugee Outreach community begins weekly Sunday meals, ESL and citizenship classes, and Faith Formation after 10:00 am Mass on September 14 continuing through April, and there are several ways parishioners can support our program:
- ESL Teachers – Work with the adults in our refugee community to build English language skills (no foreign language required)
- Faith Formation Teachers– Teach basic faith formation classes to children (age ranges include Pre-K-1st, 2nd grade sacramental prep and 3rd-5th grade)
- Gym Monitor – Oversee free play in the gymnasium for middle school and high school aged children not participating in faith formation classes
- Kitchen Crews – If you have a club or group of friends (preferably older teens and adults) who can staff the kitchen on a program Sunday under the direction of our kitchen coordinators, we need you!
- Gently used clothing and household item donations – We will begin accepting items for our community members to “shop” after each Sunday’s program. Bring items to the school cafeteria Sundays between 9-11 am beginning September 15th
- Monetary donations – Our parishioners bless the Refugee Outreach community financially each year, and these donations are the sole reason the program continues. Consult FaithDirect.com for Refugee Outreach specific giving dates, or give via the donation baskets during Fifth Sunday masses.
Contact Program Co-Director Kristin Schuck at kristinschuck@yahoo.com if you are interested in filling one of these roles. We can always find a spot for someone with a heart for service if none of these opportunities are a fit.
Thank you for your continued prayers and support as we welcome new members to our parish community for the 2025-26 year!
