Applicability.
The program requires all clergy, employees, and volunteers to complete a Screening Process. Through the screening and training process, the parish hopes to assure parents and staff members that it is committed to identifying persons that may not be suited to work with minors or vulnerable adults. All school parents are strongly encouraged to be involved in their child’s school life and volunteer in the school. In order to serve in the school, parents (and/or guardians, aunts/uncles, grandparents or other family members also interested in serving) must first be screened and cleared. How long the screening process takes to complete it up to the participant - completing and returning forms and attending required training is at the participant’s discretion. No reminders are sent to participants on steps that remain to be completed. The participant is responsible for monitoring their own screening process. We highly recommend that interested school parents (and others) complete screening as early in their child's school life as possible. In order to remain eligible to serve each year, volunteers must update their training annually, no later than the last day of the month in which the anniversary of their last training occurs.
